Duck Hunters With Trained Retrievers
I've used several dog trainers in the Memphis area over the last 20 years. Big River Retrievers is without a doubt the best. Jeremy has personally trained my last 3 dogs and I wouldn't think about calling anyone else.

Jeremy has trained my Golden Retriever from basic training through advanced handling where he is responding comfortably to hand signals and is performing blind retrieves. Jeremy also worked with Pete in preparing him for the AKC Hunt Tests competitions in Bruce, Mississippi and La Vergne, Tennessee.
My 16 year old son learned proper handling techniques from Jeremy for the competitions. So with my son running Pete they proceeded to qualify in every series in which they were entered and ultimately obtained his Junior Title. Jeremy has done a fantastic job with Pete and we look forward to a great duck season with the dog before Pete returns to compete in the senior hunt test trials in the Spring.

Very pleased with the outcome of my pup. I dropped him off at Jeremy's place at 6 months old for 4 months after he was started with basic commands (sit,here,heel,kennel) and backyard retrieving. I hunted with him this season starting at 13 months old and received many compliments on how well the dog acted on the stand/in the boat and how he responded to commands. Jeremy is part of the Midsouth Hunting Retriever Club and I was able to train with the dog actively on weekends and at Jeremy's kennel when I had time. I will continue to use Big River Retrievers for my dog and have full confidence in referring people to him. Jeremy has plenty of experience in training dogs and he does it with consistency with a cool hand towards the dogs. I have also witnessed a few instances where I could personal vouch for his honest method of business, I saw 2 different dogs come in for training and after working with them Jeremy realized the dogs were not going to retrieve and told the owners not to waste their money on going any further. In other words, I'm very pleased with the services that Big River Retrievers offers!
If you need a dog trained this is the only place to go. Jeremy Cantrell is the BEST dog trainer around. He works hard everyday to make sure you have a dog your proud of! He encourages you to train with him. I took him a dog with no background and me personally didn't know a thing about dog training. Today I have a awesome dog that others wish they had!!! Mack came from a noted Golden Retriever breeder, so I knew he had potential, but my wife would not let me leave him with anyone for more than a month, so Jeremy had his work cut out for him. He did an excellent job, as he worked my high strung young dog through the obedience and command basics and then trained him with initial retrieving directives that allowed for a wonderful first season. I’m doing my best to see if my wife will allow for a refresher course after this second season.
